She is not a woman nor a man, she is both.

The Autumn/Winter 2009 collection 9 seeks inspiration from cross-dressing and bi-gender, the tendency to move between masculine and feminine typed behaviour, as well as classic mens- and womenswear.

As the collection is poignantly titled "9", it refers to a number that is as versatile as the collection itself. Nine can be flipped to six and within common numerology it stands for the highest level of change. Correspondingly the collection changes sexes and identity.

Performers like Annie Lennox and 90's supermodel Veruschka stand as role models for experimenting with codes of appearance, the switching between a primarily masculine or feminine image and the calculating of sexual identity for personal style and advantage.

The result is a women’s collection that plays with the combination of contradictory garments as well as materials. The Hernández woman wears classic men’s shirts with frill tights, circle cut dresses with stiff collars.
The qualities are juxtaposed; washed leather is paired with feminine velveteen and silk/bamboo blends with striped cotton. Colours run from a black and white base with addition of ecru, grey and blue.

The collection was presented with a photo- and collection installation during fashion week in Stockholm.
